What Is Business Or Organisational Coaching?
Also called leadership coaching, business/organisation coaching is a future-focused, positive and energetic engagement aimed at supporting a leader or manager in achieving their vision, in alignment with their values and business objectives. The organisational voice is part of the process, as organisational coaching brings together the executive or manager and the organisation in identifying growth and development objectives.
The Learning Approach
Online, bi-monthly (fortnightly) webinars, over a six month period, led by faculty.
The webinars run from 16h30 to 20h00 on alternative Wednesdays, minimising the disruption to your schedules.

Programme Overview
The Engeza programme is aimed at new and aspiring coaches who want to add to their current skill set by acquiring knowledge and understanding of coaching within an organisation.
Organisational and Business Coaching requires an understanding of how businesses and organisations function, from NPOs to corporates. In this context, coaching refers to an individual’s growth and development aligned with their business or organisation’s strategic objectives as well as the objectives for the client.
THE CURRICULUM


Programme Structure and learning experience
The ICF accredited programme is limited to twelve participants. It has been designed by psychologists for new and aspiring coaches to confidently and skilfully step into coaching within organisations or do life coaching. It builds foundational knowledge around coaching theories, develops competence in ICF coaching competencies, and provides practical exposure to coaching within organisational and business systems. Extensive opportunity to practise coaching and be observed by ICF-credentialed observers is key to the learning process.
The programme is limited to twelve participants, to intensify the experiential nature of the learning, allow for maximum participation and to support the building of strong networks of like-minded fellow professionals. The programme is delivered in English.
The programme is made up of:
- Twelve bi-weekly webinars (every second week) over a six-month period
- Self-study: Reading, video materials, ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics, Reflection and study validation
- Practice coaching
- Group assignment of an organisational case study: Coaching on the Axis (Prof MS Kahn)
The Learning Experience
Through the Engeza Organisational & Business Coaching Programme, you will gain:
- Defining coaching and coaching in an organisational context
- Using a strengths-based approach
- Laying the foundation for coaching through orientation to the ICF competencies
- Experiencing and practising coaching through triad coaching rounds, receiving feedback through observed coaching
- Understanding transactional versus transformational coaching
- Exploring somatic, narrative, neuroscience and intentional change coaching theories
- Introducing business
- Introducing organisational savvy and coaching within organisations
- Presenting own reflexive and reflective learning on becoming a coach
- Building clarity on next steps on ICF credentialing and setting up a coaching practice.
ICF LEVEL 1 and HPCSA CPD Points
The programme has been accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Level 1 coaching education programme. The programme is approved for 65 hours. This provides all training hours required for an ICF ACC credential.
ICF Core Coaching Competencies:
These core competencies are the foundation of the coaching training within a strengths-based philosophy.

- Attendance at all twelve webinars, most of which are facilitated by two ICF-credentialed coaches (Eileen & Kerrin)
- Prescribed book: Jenny Rogers, Coaching Skills, a Handbook. 4th Edition.
- Programme guide (accessible online on Engeza website)
- All ICF material needed
- All video presentations for self-study, and validation questions
- All articles needed or links are provided on Engeza website
- Detailed schedule of activities during webinars
- Additional no charge organisational or business acumen tutoring from Kerrin and Dave, as requested
Note: There are additional charges to be paid to gain further steps toward an ICF credential, and charges to be paid to ICF for membership fees and coach knowledge exam.

We recommend reading the prescribed book before attending the programme. Arrangements will be made with you regarding the book.
