Coach Supervisor Training
Engeza is proud to announce that Dr Marc Kahn will be running his Supervising on the Axis:
Coach Supervisor Training Programme for Engeza.
This remarkable programme, designed for a small group and run personally by Dr Marc Kahn, is an insightful learning journey into coach supervision for experienced coaches. The programme teaches supervisors how to help coaches work with their respective clients in managing the complexity of the organisational system in an ethical, value creating and effective way. The “Axis” speaks to the relationships between the parts as the place upon which to focus (as opposed to the individuals as separate entities), and has systems theory as a theoretical base as well as individual psychology and organisational theory.
There are 6 x monthly live training sessions of three hours each. Participation is compulsory as sessions are not recorded due to confidentiality. Field work, preparatory work and reading are required. In addition, participants will need to conduct supervision throughout the six month period and bring audio clips of their supervision to work with in the training sessions.
First programme kicks off February 2022. (Note: This programme is fully booked). Classes run Saturday mornings, 09h30-12h30. The programme is limited to senior coaches who have substantial experience. The programme is limited to 9 participants so that individual attention can be achieved throughout.
Why Coach Supervision Training?
ICF defines coaching supervision as:
“Coaching Supervision is a collaborative learning practice to continually build the capacity of the coach through reflective dialogue for the benefit of both coaches and clients.
Coaching Supervision focuses on the development of the coach’s capacity through offering a richer and broader opportunity for support and development. Coaching Supervision creates a safe environment for the coach to share their successes and failures in becoming masterful in the way they work with their clients.” https://coachingfederation.org/coaching-supervision
The Association of Coaching Supervisors in the United Kingdom shares their perspective on coaching supervision:
“Coaches need supervision and increasingly corporate clients and procurement specialists are making evidence of regular supervision part of their quality assurance process. A supervisor is a more experienced coach who:
- Helps you benchmark your practice against best practice
- Works through ethical dilemmas with you
- Brings a perspective about the quality of the coaching practice
Coaching supervision draws on the best practice of psychotherapy and counselling supervision and places it within a coaching orientation. As such, it upholds the principles of coaching and mentoring and the coaching relationship”. https://www.associationofcoachingsupervisors.com/supervisors/what-is-supervision
